As you know, the Cosmetology Association of New Brunswick (the “Association”) held its Annual General Meeting on June 2, 2025. At the AGM two members were elected to sit on the Board of Directors of the Association. This was a mistake and, instead, all three members who had their names stand for election should have been acclaimed.

Unfortunately, the AGM meeting package also called for the election of only two seats on the Board when it should have referred to three seats on the Board.

Following the AGM, and after reviewing the Cosmetology Act and the By-laws of the Association, it was determined that there were only eight Directors on the Board including those two new members who had been elected at the AGM. The Act requires that the Board have nine Directors. This means that the Association must call a special meeting to hold a re-election for the three seats on the Board of Directors that were vacant at the AGM. The prior election results do not stand and the whole process of election must be restarted.

The special meeting will be for the sole purpose of electing three members to the Board of Directors. No other items can be dealt with at this meeting.

This will go directly to the Registrar, Jade Fearneley, please make your submission no later than July 25, 2025. Please ensure that the Registrar acknowledges receipt of your nomination form to ensure that your name is included in the election. If you previously submitted your name to stand for election at the AGM, please re-submit your nomination form to confirm that you would still like your name to stand for election at the special meeting.

Members are asked to continue sending their questions and concerns to the Association. We want to assure members that their concerns are being investigated by the Association. As you know, the Association has had to deal with a lot of changes recently and we appreciate the

patience of the members as we work through this transition period.
